SIMPLE GUIDELINES FOR LOCATION PHOTOGRAPHY
As the saying goes, A Picture’s Worth A Thousand Words…..
…
.. make sure it says the right thing about your company by following
these simple guidelines.
1. Make Sure Everyone Knows About it
Give everyone involved plenty of advanced warning. Do not leave it
until the day of the photo session.
2. Allow Enough Time
Good photographic results will require proper setting up and positioning
etc.
Please set aside sufficient time for the photo call to achieve the
desired effect.
3. Personal Presentation – Small Details Count
Good grooming is very important. Attention should be given to such things as hair, make-up, clean shoes and clothing – ties should be straight, suits, skirts and trousers uncrumpled.
There may need to be colour co-ordination of clothes amongst individuals or with the environment or background.
Beware Photo chromic (self tinting) spectacles in bright sunlight on outdoor shots.
4. Personal Presentation – In the Workplace
Clean overalls, gloves, boots, safety hats, goggles etc. should be worn
to reflect the client’s image and in accordance with health and
safety regulations.
5. Prepare the Location
Make sure the area to be photographed is clean and tidy. Remove irrelevant
posters, pin-up calendars and competitor’s names from the field
of view.
The object to be photographed must be clean and in pristine condition.
Whenever possible we prefer to visit the location in advance in order
to familiarise ourselves with the surrounding.
